Happy New Year!
Ahh, the beginning of a new year—fresh calendars, new goals, and a clean state to begin all of those new year resolutions you’re going to strive to work really really hard for (or so you say!) But, now what? Here are some tips and tricks for getting your home ready for the Spring Market!
Tips and Tricks for Getting Your Home Ready for the Spring Market:
- Paint the Interior–Painting the inside of your house can really give your home a “fresh and clean” feel without breaking the bank. Picking a neutral color to paint the entire interior will give buyers a clean slate to look at, making the house more visually appealing (BONUS!) Check out the 2019 Paint Color Trends here.
- De-Clutter–SO IMPORTANT! If you are looking to get rid of bulky items like furniture, appliances, etc. check with local Thrift Stores or Project Echo. We also recommend renting a pod or a dumpster to use to get rid of anything that you do not want anymore. There is nothing less appealing than walking into a home and seeing an updated kitchen with your grandma’s vintage furniture in the next room. Making your house look clean and uniform will encourage buyers to visualize themselves living there! - Update, Update, Update– Updating your home to sell on the market does not have to be expensive. In fact, our favorite way to give your home a quick (and inexpensive) update is to paint your kitchen cabinets white! Painting your cabinets makes your kitchen look bigger, brighter, and overall better for potential home buyers. Check out a favorite before and after using this hack:
- Cleaning–Not a favorite to do, but makes a huge difference! Cleaning doesn’t have to be time-consuming or hard, in fact, we have some fun hacks that we like to use while cleaning. Vinegar has many uses including: eliminating odors, keeping the shower streak-free, getting rid of carpet stains, and more. Check out 50 uses for Vinegar here. Did you know you can use Dawn Dish Soap for more than just washing dishes? Anything from a weed killer to unclogging a toilet–you have to check out these 20 Frugal Ways to use Dawn Dish Soap here. There are also tons of DIY ways that we encourage sellers to try out when cleaning their home–check those out here.
